A Connect Group (formerly a small group) is a caring community of people who grow spiritually while sharing life together. Each group meets in a local home, business, or online focused on worship, prayer, Bible study, or topical study to connect, challenge, and encourage one another.

Connect Group leaders are a vital part of the success of the church community. And being a group leader is an excellent opportunity to help others grow in their relationship with Jesus and experience Biblical community.

Emerge Berkeley Connect Groups for short, provide the optimal environment for the life change Jesus Christ intends for every person. Our groups typically have 10-12 people, are each group is characterized by the following four distinctive:

GATHER together at least 2x a month (Heb. 10:24-25)
GROW to be more Christ-like (Rom. 12:1-2; Pet. 1:14-16)
GIVE of themselves in various ways (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph 4:11-16)
GO on to impact the world around them (Matt. 28:19)

Connect Group Leader Expectations:

Commit to a growing, daily relationship with Jesus Christ
Attend Sunday services every week
Participate in connect group (small group) leader huddles/trainings
Pray for your group regularly
Meet monthly with the Spiritual Formation Pastor
Empower others to lead/serve in the context of your group
